What if I have to cancel an appointment or am running late?
If you have to cancel your appointment, please give us 24-hours advance notice to avoid being charged the full session price. Since my schedule is often fully booked, I have to turn people away. If you don't show for your session, that means that I've denied someone else the opportunity to have a session. If you don't show for your session, you will be charged the full session price.
Of course unexpected things -- like traffic -- happen and you might be running late. I ask that you please call prior to the start time of your session to let me know if you're going to be late. Due to tight scheduling, I cannot extend sessions. When you're late for a session, the time will be subtracted from the session. That means that if you're 10 minutes late, your session will be 80-minutes rather than 90-minutes.
How should I prepare for my session?
Sometimes a session requires close contact, so please come to your session clean but without heavy perfumes. I also ask that you don't wear any or much jewelry, as it tends to get in the way during sessions.
What type of clothing should I wear?
Standard yoga/gym wear is recommended. Cool, natural fibers are best (slippery materials can hinder sessions), as they allow the body to breath. Your clothing should be comfortable enough for you to bend and stretch in but not too baggy as to get in the way during a session.
There is no need to wear socks. Yoga is practiced barefoot to allow for maximum circulation and contact with the floor.
How do I pay for my session?
Please bring a check or cash in the proper amount with you. I prefer to accept payment for the session prior to starting (that way when you're in Savasana bliss, you don't have to fumble around with your wallet). If you would rather pay in advance by credit card, let me know and I'll send you my PayPal information.
I donate 10% of my gratuities to charity.
Do I need to bring anything to my session?
If you have a yoga mat that you prefer to use, please bring it. Otherwise, everything else will be provided. If you're receiving a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session, I do suggest that you bring a pen and paper for journaling immediately after the session. Of course this is optional. I only suggest it because the majority of my clients have insights that they want to record on paper immediately after the session so they don't forget them later.

What do I need to know before my first session?
Upon making your first appointment, a Welcome Packet will be sent to you explaining everything you need to know. If you're not having an in-home session, you will receive directions to your session site.
